Unsubstantiated Rumors of a Coup

Feb 26, 2007 07:59

Over the weekend we read that "Some of America’s most senior military commanders are prepared to resign if the White House orders a military strike against Iran, according to highly placed defense and intelligence sources."

Now the Russian FSB gives us some interesting stories about a recent plane incident with Vice President Cheney that feeds the same idea of serious dissent in the ranks.

Apparently there was "an attempt by Special Forces Troops of the United States Military to arrest the American Vice President Cheney shortly after boarding his official plane in Australia has resulted in at least 3 dead and an unknown number of wounded."

Cheney was, "a leading architect in the Bush administration of the decision to invade Iraq." He "told ABC News that media speculation that he had lost influence within the Bush administration was inaccurate, just as earlier speculation that he was the all-powerful was wrong."

The incident at least corresponds with heightened military activity at the end of last week when it was reported that radio traffic was indicating submarines being tracked off of all coasts, troop movements in Alaska, and even some odd troop encampments just north of the border in Canada.

The radio traffic from Cheney's case was in the mix. The FSB said, "the United States Air Force, which is in control of the American Vice Presidents plane, sent an ‘urgent’ flash message shortly after takeoff from Sydney, Australia alerting their US Pacific Command Forces through the United States Worldwide Military Command and Control System (WWMCCS) network, and which is monitored by Russian Military Forces, of the deaths aboard the plane and requesting ‘orders’."

Many times the radio traffic is not encrypted.

The perceived instability of the US government is a natural strategic danger that would be of great interest to Russian generals.

This would not be the first such firefight rumor between factions in the federal government, and does more to explain their paranoia than Hizbullah or even the "evil gun-toting American militia man" ever could.

We have already reported the numerous Capitol evacuations which are given stupid cover stories. A long running coupe would explain why Bush's secret codes were compromised on 911; why the buildings fell down (including ones not hit by planes); why the Oklahoma City bombing occurred; and more recently why the Capitol Garage became an auto body repair shop after another firefight between the two factions.

The Russians believe that Cheney and Bush are on opposite sides.

On Tuesday, Feb. 27, an unannounced stop by Cheney at Bagram air base in Afghanistan resulted in another incident.

The cover story is Taliban, and mad plausible by adding "the Taliban and al-Qaeda have penetrated local intelligence agencies."

"Cheney's visits to Pakistan and Afghanistan were unannounced and shrouded in even tighter secrecy than when US President George W Bush travelled to the two countries in March 2006."
"They must have had information (a) few days before that the US vice-president would be in town and stay at Bagram. This is not something you can plan with 12 hours notice."

The long simmering coup is about to boil over.

Even more details show the great danger Cheney was in before they arrived in Pakistan. Instead of his usual plane, he "exchange his Air Force Two suite for a high-tech... a 40-foot-long trailer -- dubbed "the silver bullet" -- that was anchored to the floor of the C-17 transport with chains."

Deputy CIA Director Steve Kappes accompanied Cheney, and "Armed guards stood on the tarmac with guns drawn as Cheney left the plane."

The problem is Australia was described by aides as, "a simple electrical problem -- a minor inconvenience that had no noticeable impact."

More reports say that "Cheney -- who officials say was never in danger from the blast," was taken to a bomb shelter. The dead are 4 NATO. Like the Ron Brown death during the Clinton years, there was a "snow storm" that grounded the flight of a C-17.

If there is a high level coup, why would they not have fighter aircraft as well?
