The Messiah tore up the town of Chapman, Kansas but preserved their lives, with most of the damage sustained by the government. Not surprisingly, "70 percent of the economic damage caused by the storm was suffered by the school system."
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius said, "The devastation is enormous.... It looks like a bomb went off... The schools are really dismantled." Never fear, the lesson and mercy shown my Messiah was wasted and she added, "Students would begin classes in temporary buildings in the fall."
Even so one witness said, "We didn't get a scratch, bruise or anything ... The hand of God must have been sitting just right on top of us." Perhaps, but it will take much more destruction before the pew-sitters fear god more than their government. But the witness is correct, "he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind." He is the cause of the storms--he who "struck down the firstborn of Egypt."
