When a Christian declared himself to be an adherent to a church 500 years ago, it had the meaning that he was obedient to the law of that sect and to also worship using it's established liturgy. Today it is no more meaningful than identifying with a football team.
The guts of the dissonance was expressed by Steven Emerson when he said that adding the political to the religious is when sermons "become a problem."
It was a problem in the 1700's when the government committed minor transgressions of the beliefs of the colonial Christians and "took the law into their own hands" They broke the law of sinful men to be more faithful to the perfect law of their own god.
Islam is not confused, just adhering to a different religious doctrine and law than Presbyterians. Considering that modern apostasy has produced the world's biggest state tyrannies in the last 100 years, it is at least refreshing to hear men who do not compromise even if it is not on behalf of a god that we are permitted to either obey or to bow down to. But, "the pastor" said there was only one any way--and away blinks the mind of the Christian.
If the Presbyterians began having artillery sermons again, Emerson would complain about them also. The problem is not political but religious. America cannot exist in it's present state of secular apostasy. Secularism is an aberration of history that will not endure.
The Muslims say, "In time, this so-called democracy will crumble, and there will be nothing. And the only thing that will remain will be Islam." Many pastors would say that the sin of America will destroy it. Whether they submit to Allah or fight for their lives is the more important concern. We bet: submit.
The Muslim said, "If Allah says stone them to death, through the Prophet Muhammad, then you stone them to death, because it's the obedience of Allah and his messenger -- nothing personal." Which is exactly what secular police say when they beat pro-lifers to a bloody pulp. The same issue remains: will the Presbytery submit to tyranny or punish the perpetrators.
If a Muslim prophesies the demise of the US police state, does it make it less true? The Muslim said, "I see the demise of the Soviet Union as a sign for the American people that what happened in the Soviet Union will definitely happen in America unless America changes its course from the new world order and accepts the Islamic agenda." Perhaps the problem is that Christians are the New World Order: the very ones who were warned not to let money govern them into a position of requiring permits to buy or sell.
An enemy who is faithful to his doctrine and disciplined to carry them out is one to learn from more than Judeo-Christian friends who are cowardly and corrupt.
