The modern state is largely the creation of the Reformation and is not a concept found within the Bible. As Prof. Paul Eidelberg wrote, "The concept of the sovereign "state" is foreign to the Torah." The signers of the Declaration of Independence stated that government is not sovereign but is a fiduciary. The "State" is only a trustee, not the owner.
There is only one religious body telling the state the unpleasant truth, but not in America. In Israel a body similar to the Continental Congress was formed; "The New Jewish Congress, recently inaugurated in Jerusalem, declared that the Land of Israel does not belong to the State but to the Nation--the Jewish People. The State is nothing more than a trustee of the Jewish People to whom this land was given by God Almighty."
The basis of a civil conflict are laid when a body declares the state to not be supreme because the ruling "secular elites deem the State supreme--a fascist doctrine." The elites reject the idea that the Land of America or Israel belongs to the Nation, which is "We the People". Logic dictates that the State, as presently conceived, must perish if the People are to retain their only homeland. This is true in America or Israel if the American people are to retain their land.
The state will not dissolve itself anymore than the king of England accepted colonial petition. "But inasmuch as the power of the State is concentrated in its political and judicial institutions, these institutions much perish or be radically transformed.
Democratic elections alone will not accomplish this task. In fact, it is precisely democratic elections that endow the elites with legitimacy despite their treachery. No one in public life emphasizes this fact on public forums.
No one aspiring to political leadership has the courage and the intellectual ability to tell the people of that they have been brainwashed for 100 years about democracy. Nor in Israel, "has anyone enlightened them about the inherent contradiction between the idea of the sovereign State and Judaism," and in America, reminded them that the founders were religious--not elites founding another secular tyranny.
The consequence of preferring secular Christians to govern (not rule) is to choose the blasphemous Mr. Bush who has outspent and regulated his predecessor. Bush actually went to Jerusalem, the holy city, and told the Jews to get out of David's capital. Mr. Bush--a self-styled Christian, telling Jews to end the occupation of their God-given land. Olmert "will do this because Israel’s secular elites regard the State and its laws superior to the laws of the Torah, as the Jews of Gush Katif learned in their misery."
Those who claim the laws of the State are the highest laws are actually espousing a fascist doctrine. If the Supreme Court or the congress insists that the laws of the State are the highest law, then I urge the men to call for regime change and not just civil disobedience. Indeed, those who have not sacrificed their intellects to "political correctness" and the appearance of righteousness must surely know that America’s phony democracy, with its destructive political and judicial institutions, must perish if "We the People" are to survive.
