Right to Travel, or Self Defense?

Apr 27, 2007 07:00

This story is frequently repeated: "A state trooper was shot in the torso Tuesday afternoon during a traffic stop." And the average person responds with "lock their doors and remove keys from their vehicles."

Travis D. Trim may be guilty of only self defense. If the Police State expected to operate freely just as their Nazi and Soviet predecessors did, then we would hope not for the sake of the terrorist who incited war in 1776.

As one victim of Soviet night arrests once said, if somebody killed a few of them when they went out, they would be reluctant to do it again. Travis killed one and shot two more. The story has been spun. Now, "The shootings are believed to have resulted from a confrontation with a fugitive who shot another trooper on Tuesday."

The final version of this story is that he was burned alive, "The farmhouse that authorities had surrounded in the search for Trim went up in flames Wednesday shortly after a SWAT team tried to enter."

Burning is the method used by the gods of government for those who blaspheme them, not street criminals.
