Monday, Jun 01, 2009 12:48

The Army recruiting office in the Ashley Square Shopping Center at 9112 North Rodney Parham Road, near Reservoir Road was ambushed around 10:20 a.m. when gunshots were fired from a black SUV that sped off.

Little Rock police caught up with the suspect shortly after the shooting at the intersection of I-30 and I-630 near downtown Little Rock. Little Rock Police Lt. Terry Hastings says weapons, including an assault weapon and a shotgun, were found inside the SUV.

The Little Rock Fire Department's bomb squad was called in concern about some bags found inside: after a suspicious device was found, in a fairly new 4-door Ford F-150 truck. An IED was claimed by 1:20PM, resulting in a 2 block evacuation(from an interstate).

The single attacker surrendered. And no info is being released by DHS that might identify such an organized effort.

Sappers were seen drilling into the side of the truck bed incerting a camera wire.
