Reasons why the GOP will collapse are two words: the constitution, and god.

The well known incident occurred when "Republican Congressional leaders filed into the Oval Office to meet with President George W. Bush and talk about renewing the controversial USA Patriot Act." They told Bush that, "the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives."

To his credit, George was honest and answered, "I don't give a goddamn... I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."

An aide tried to unravel the blasphemy and said, "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."

Not to be humbled by god or man he reaffirmed his faith by saying, "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face... It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

Why should George revere a covenant when the godly conservatives don't? One of their sages said, "It is only a man's covenant, yet when it has been ratified, no one sets it aside or adds conditions to it." But not true. The congress and presidents have continually "redefined" the covenant while the holy people looked on unconcerned.

Even the Attorney General Alberto Gonzales wrote that the "Constitution is an outdated document."
