Solana Urges Security Council Resolution Against Israel

Jul 13, 2009 07:29

EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana in London on Saturday, July 12, 2009 said "After a fixed deadline, a UN Security Council resolution should proclaim the adoption of the two-state solution" UNSC resolutions typically lead to war. Resolution 1441 was used by Tony Blair, George W. Bush, and Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar who said that no further authorization from the UN would be sought before an invasion of Iraq.

Supporting the invasion hypothesis is the simultaneous report on Monday, July 13, 2009 that Britain imposed a partial arms embargo. "The British Embassy in Tel Aviv confirmed Monday that the United Kingdom had revoked a number of arms export licenses to Israel... but insisted that the move did not constitute a partial embargo."

From the embargo one concludes that the UK forces will make their landing from the Mediterranean Sea since the weapons affected are Sa’ar 4.5 class of Israeli Sea Corps missile boats.

Supporting the hypothesis of a preparatory phase prior to the invasion of Israel is last weeks report, Monday, July 6, 2009 when the Egyptian government was doing a poor job of spinning US troop preparations to patrol the Sinai desert, saying, "Egypt denied on Monday media reports about the deploying of U.S. troops on Egypt's borders with Israel," followed by "the United States is doing a periodic change to part of its troops taking part in the multinational force in Sinai."

The private conversations between Israeli commanders and troops are to prepare for war with the US. It is possible that US troops usually stationed in Sinai could reinforce Israel during war with Iran except that Obama has no intention of allowing that to happen.

Another expectation is that US troops would aid Israeli troops loyal to the government during the civil war, to "secure" the nuclear weapons.

The Russian FSB also state that "President Medvedev has given to President Obama Russia’s assurance of 'non-interference' over US plans to invade the Israeli blockaded Palestinian territory of Gaza." Gaza being a sea coast city also benefits from the arms embargo, and the correlation of forces indicates a pincer movement will be attempted on Gaza, Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv.
